Hey there, and welcome back. I’m so glad you’re spending a few minutes with us today. I’m one of the doctors here at Kirar Superior Healthcare, serving the Goose Creek community — and today we’re talking about something that can genuinely change your life. Your morning routine.

Now, I know what you might be thinking. Morning routine? What does that have to do with my chiropractor? Well — here’s the thing. The way you start your morning sets the tone for your entire body. And if you’re dealing with lower back pain, neck pain, or waking up with headaches, there’s a really good chance your morning habits are either helping you… or hurting you. Let’s dig into that.

At Kirar Superior Healthcare, we believe in what’s called the hundred year lifestyle philosophy. The idea is simple but powerful — your body is designed to function well for a long, long time. But that only happens when you give it what it needs every single day. And that starts the moment you open your eyes.

So let’s talk about the first big thing. How you get out of bed. This sounds almost too simple, right? But so many people with lower back pain make it worse before they even have their first cup of coffee. Here’s what we see all the time — people go from lying flat to sitting straight up, fast. That motion puts a lot of strain on the lumbar spine, especially in the morning when your discs are still hydrated and a little more sensitive. Instead, roll to your side first. Let your legs drop off the edge of the bed. Then press yourself up with your arms. That one small change takes enormous pressure off your lower back. Do it every morning. Make it a habit.

Now let’s talk about your neck. If you’re waking up with neck stiffness or headaches, your sleep position and your first thirty minutes of the morning are worth a very close look. A lot of people grab their phone the second they wake up. And within two minutes, their chin is down, their shoulders are rounded, and their neck is carrying the weight of that posture. We call it tech neck — and it’s a real problem. The cervical spine, that’s the neck region, is designed to have a gentle forward curve. When you constantly drop your head forward, that curve starts to change. Over time, that contributes to chronic neck pain, tension headaches, and even nerve irritation. So here’s our advice. Give yourself at least fifteen minutes in the morning before you check your phone. Use that time to move gently instead.

Which brings me to the third point — gentle movement first thing. You don’t need a full workout. You don’t need to be at the gym by five in the morning. What your body needs is a few minutes of intentional, gentle movement. Some light stretching for your lower back. Slow neck rolls. Shoulder circles. These small movements increase circulation, warm up your joints, and signal to your nervous system that it’s time to function. This is exactly the kind of daily habit the hundred year lifestyle is built on — small, consistent choices that protect your function for the long haul. Not just for today. For decades to come.

Here’s our practical takeaway for you. Tomorrow morning, try this. Roll out of bed the right way. Skip the phone for fifteen minutes. Do five minutes of gentle movement. That’s it. Start there and see how your body feels by midday.

Now — if you’re already doing these things and you’re still waking up with pain, stiffness, or headaches, that’s a signal your body is asking for a deeper look. Our team at Kirar Superior Healthcare would love to help. We’ll sit down with you, listen to what you’re experiencing, and on the first visit we will take X-rays if needed — so we have a clear picture of what’s actually going on in your spine. From there, we build a care plan that fits your life and your goals.

We are right here in Goose Creek, and our doors are open. You can find us at doctor kirar dot com — that’s D R K I R A R dot com — or give our office a call and our team will take great care of you.

Thank you so much for listening today. Your health is worth investing in — every single morning. We’ll see you in the next episode.
